dc.description.abstractEn este documento se analiza el significado que tiene, para las organizaciones de pequeños productores, el participar con una estrategia que focaliza en nichos de mercados considerando que uno de los impulsos de las certificaciones ambientales, que se aplican a los procesos productivos de agro exportación, proviene desde la demanda. El objetivo del documento es sistematizar, analizar y presentar los resultados de entrevistas a gerentes de organizaciones de pequeños agricultores con certificaciones ambientales o sociales, y establecer si la estrategia seguida ha permitido una mejora en competitividad. El documento incluye el marco conceptual de soporte al estudio, en relación con el concepto de competitividad a nivel de unidad productiva, la metodología y las conclusiones. Los resultados permiten concluir que las certificaciones implican creación y fortalecimiento de la competitividad de las organizaciones, pero aunque se acceda a mercados más exigentes, su impacto directo en mejores precios no está garantizado.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThis document analyzes the meaning that is for organizations of small producers to participate in strategies focused on niche markets, considering that one of the impulses of environmental certifications – which are applied to the production processes of agro-export– comes from the demand side. The document aims to systematize analyses and present the results of interviews to managers of small farmers organizations environmental or social certified, and shed light about the results of this strategy on competitiveness improvement. The document includes the conceptual framework that supports the study, the concept of competitiveness at the level of productive unit, methodology and conclusions. The results allow to conclude that certifications involve the creation and strengthening of the competitiveness of the organizations, but in spite of access to more demanding markets, its direct impact on best prices is not guaranteed.en_US
