Elaboración del modelo de participación y consulta del talento humano en las empresas transnacionales del sector servicios para el alcance de la cláusula 5.4 de la norma ISO 45001: 2018 en la empresa Sykes Costa Rica

Abstract

En el presente proyecto de graduación se elaboró un procedimiento de operación estándar para la de participación y consulta de los trabajadores en la empresa SYKES Costa Rica, con el fin de responder a los lineamientos de la cláusula 5.4 de la Norma ISO 45001:2018. El primer capítulo presenta la justificación, el planteamiento del problema, los objetivos de investigación, el diseño metodológico y los alcances y limitaciones. Este capítulo pretende mostrar al lector la ruta que se utilizó para alcanzar los objetivos planteados, así como reflejar el motivo de la investigación. En el segundo capítulo se realizó una conceptualización del sistema de gestión de la seguridad y salud en el trabajo, esto con el propósito de comprender la función de este sistema en cuanto a la prevención de riesgos en los sitios de labores. Por otra parte, el presente capítulo describe el perfil de las empresas nacionales e internacionales que han implantado la Norma ISO 45001:2018 en sus sistemas de gestión. El tercer capítulo abordo lo referente a la estructura, características y beneficios de la Norma ISO 45001:2018, se pretende mostrar la evolución de la Norma OHSAS 18001 hasta que la Organización Internacional de Estandarización (ISO), por sus siglas en inglés, la adoptara como la ISO 45001. Además, el capítulo muestra la estructura y términos que conforman la norma, así como una sección dedicada a la participación y consulta de los trabajadores. El cuarto capítulo contiene el estudio de caso, el cuál fue SYKES Costa Rica y el producto final entregado a la compañía. Se describen las actividades e instrumentos aplicados para la obtención de información, el contexto actual de SYKES en materia de salud y seguridad en el trabajo, así como el procedimiento de operación estándar y los beneficios de implantar la Norma ISO 45001:2018 en el sistema de gestión de la compañía. Finalmente, en el capítulo cinco se incorporaron las conclusiones y recomendaciones del desarrollo de la investigación, donde se presentan los hallazgos del proyecto y se dan observaciones derivadas a la información obtenida y del instrumento.

In this graduation project, a standard operating procedure was developed for the participation and consultation of workers in the company SYKES Costa Rica, in order to respond to the guidelines of clause 5.4 of ISO 45001:2018. The first chapter presents the justification, the problem statement, the research objectives, the methodological design, and the scope and limitations. This chapter aims to show the reader the route that was used to achieve the stated objectives, as well as to reflect the reason for the research. In the second chapter, a conceptualization of the occupational health and safety management system was made, with the purpose of understanding the function of this system in terms of risk prevention at work sites. On the other hand, this chapter describes the profile of national and international companies that have implemented ISO 45001:2018 in their management systems. The third chapter deals with the structure, characteristics and benefits of the ISO 45001:2018 Standard, and aims to show the evolution of the OHSAS 18001 Standard until the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) adopted it as ISO 45001. In addition, the chapter shows the structure and terms that make up the standard, as well as a section dedicated to worker participation and consultation. The fourth chapter contains the case study, which was SYKES Costa Rica and the final product delivered to the company. It describes the activities and instruments applied to obtain information, the current context of SYKES in terms of occupational health and safety, as well as the standard operating procedure and the benefits of implementing ISO 45001:2018 in the company's management system. Finally, chapter five incorporated the conclusions and recommendations of the development of the research, where the findings of the project are presented and observations derived from the information obtained and the instrument are given.
