Valores, creencias, actitudes y conductas de los caficultores del país sobre la biodiversidad dentro y fuera del cafetal

Abstract

La presente investigación se realizó en 8 zonas caficultoras en el país. A partir de una lista de los caficultores y tamaño de finca se seleccionó una muestra que incluyó a 68 caficultores, pequeños, medianos y grandes agricultores. A cada uno se le visitó y el 100% estuvo anuente a contestar un cuestionario con preguntas abiertas para determinar "valores, creencias, actitudes y conductas de este grupo de agricultores sobre la biodiversidad dentro y fuera del cafetal". La decisión de realizar este estudio nació del plan de bioalfabetización del Instituto Nacional de Biodiversidad (INBio) y de una propuesta de la Universidad Nacional. El plan pretende que el individuo valore la biodiversidad, adopte una ética de respeto a la vida y asuman su responsabilidad en el manejo y conservación de todos los seres vivos y mejore la calidad de vida del ser humano.

This research was carried out in 8 coffee growing areas in the country. From a list of coffee growers and farm size, a sample was selected that included 68 coffee growers, small, medium and large farmers. Each one was visited and 100% were willing to answer a questionnaire with open questions to determine "values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors of this group of farmers on biodiversity inside and outside the coffee plantation." The decision to carry out this study was born from the bio-literacy plan of the National Biodiversity Institute (INBio) and from a proposal from the National University. The plan intends that the individual value biodiversity, adopt an ethic of respect for life and assume their responsibility in the management and conservation of all living beings and improve the quality of life of the human being.
