¿Es la dolarización una solución viable?

Abstract

Por muchos años se ha dicho que el país carece de una política monetaria ordenada, que sería mejor dejar en manos de actores externos la definición de nuestra política monetaria, es decir, que sería mejor olvidarnos del colón y dolarizar nuestra economía. Quisiera dedicar esta columna a discutir los pros y contras de dicha medida, si fuese viable pensar en dolarizar.

For many years it has been said that the country lacks an orderly monetary policy, that it would be better to leave the definition of our monetary policy in the hands of external actors, that is, that it would be better to forget about the colon and dollarize our economy. I would like to dedicate this column to discussing the pros and cons of this measure, if it is feasible to think about dollarization.
