La enseñanza y aprendizaje del idioma inglés: la investigación y su impacto en la realidad costarricense

Abstract

Este artículo hace un recuento de los esfuerzos que realizan el Ministerio de Educación Pública, las organizaciones gubernamentales y no gubernamentales (ONGs), y las instituciones públicas y privadas de nivel superior de nuestro país, Costa Rica, para la capacitación permanente del profesional en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del inglés. De igual manera, se realiza una síntesis de las publicaciones sobre investigaciones ejecutadas en relación con las diferentes áreas para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del inglés de tipo cualitativo y cuantitativo. Así mismo, este artículo ofrece un análisis de las instituciones responsables para el desarrollo de investigaciones relacionadas con el perfeccionamiento profesional de educadores en el área de inglés, los tipos de investigaciones, la cantidad y medios para publicar las investigaciones, las redes informáticas de información y divulgación sobre investigaciones realizadas, y el impacto de dichas investigaciones en las políticas educativas en el área de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del inglés.

This article describes the efforts of the Ministry of Education of Costa Rica, the governmental and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), as well as public and private institutions for higher education that deal and have the responsibility of continuous training of English as a second or foreign language professionals. Similarly, it provides a synthesis of qualitative and quantitative research publications executed in relation to different areas for teaching and learning English. In addition this article provides an analysis of the institutions responsible for the development.
