Gentiana bicentenaria A. Estrada & A. Rojas, sp. nov., endémica del Cerro Chirripó, cordillera
de Talamanca, Costa Rica, es descrita e ilustrada. Esta especie es afín a G. pumilio Standl. & Steyerm.
(México y Guatemala) y G. perpusilla Brandegee (México) y representa el segundo miembro del género
en el sur de América Central. Estas especies son miembros de la sección Chondrophyllae. Gentiana bicentenaria A. Estrada & A. Rojas, sp. nov., endemic to the Cerro Chirripó,
Talamanca mountain range, Costa Rica, is described and illustrated. This species is related to G. pumilio
Standl. & Steyerm. (México y Guatemala) y G. perpusilla Brandegee (México) and represents the second
member of the genus in the southern Central America. These species are members of sect.
Chondrophyllae.
