El movimiento ecológico en Costa Rica

Abstract

El auge de la Ecología es un, de ahí que se hace necesario indagar algunas de las razones que hicieron posible dicho auge. Lo primero será aclarar el sentido de la palabra Ecología. Dicha. palabra procede de dos palabras griegas (oikos: hogar, logos: que juntas significan estudio de la casa o estudio del hogar. Pero ¿La casa de quién? ¿La de una tortuga? ¿La de una planta? O ¿La del hombre? La de todos. Cuando estudiamos Ecología, averiguamos sobre el hogar el medio ambiente en que las plantas, los animales y el hombre, tratamos de cornprender por qué y cómo viven, y dónde se encuentran. La Ecología es la ciencia que nos permite descubrir las respuestas a éstas y a muchas más preguntas.
